We've arrived and so happy to be here

The pic of Zach jumping pretty much sums up how we feel about being here. As many of you know, I usually prefer hotels over airbnb/vrbo/etc. But, traveling for a year does require some flexibility and a mix of all kinds of stays. When researching Chiang Mai, I knew we would be coming down from the over-stimulation of Tokyo, so I wanted to find something peaceful. The description on airbnb caught my attention because it said daily housekeeping and for those of you who know me well, know I am a little bit of an organization/clean obsessed person. I don’t like clutter, especially other people’s clutter, and I also like to enjoy a break from doing all the cleaning every once and a while. A villa with a pool, daily housecleaning, laundry service, and access to a driver? Done.

We were not disappointed. This place is incredible. Melina keeps waiting for a monkey to jump in the window but so far thankfully all we have had visit is a gecko. It is so green and lush; it feels as though we are in the middle of the jungle (I guess in a larger way we are). The owners stocked our kitchen with food and even had dinner waiting for us in our villa when we arrived knowing we had been traveling all day. They are lovely and have a 9 year old son Zach is hoping to meet.
