Are you crazy?
I was asked this again today, in the produce aisle at Sonoma Market, by a mom I don’t see often but have known in town for many years. I laughed and giggled a little more when she looked even more horrified that I thought it was funny. I think she truly thought I was crazy.
Traveling full time is not for everyone, not even sure yet if it is for us! While the majority of people think it is going to be an adventure and an experience of a lifetime for all four of us, we have definitely been met with looks of utter disbelief from some people who have asked, like today, “Are you crazy? You are going to spend 24/7 together? How?” I laugh and say, maybe, yes, and the plan is unfolding as we go. However it turns out, we are going to have some great stories at the end of this travel year. I am sure there will be stories that involve tears, frustrating moments/hours but more likely, the stories of independence, the growth, the wonders of the world, the sense of adventure and most importantly, time together will outweigh the difficult moments. In the end though, they are all learning experiences and my hope is that our kids will treasure these memories and know that we will continue to do all we can to raise strong, confident and independent little humans (and global citizens of the world) who have kind hearts and know the joy of the human spirit. I hope we can all open our hearts and minds, embrace the unknown, and flourish in the sense of adventure.
