Next stop: Japan

After a quick turnaround in California, we are off on our next leg of the trip. Today we fly from SFO to Japan. The last time I was in Japan I was Zach’s age. A time before the internet, google, iPads, screens on the back of each seat, and info at your fingertips. I can only imagine the planning my parents must have done to navigate us through Japan. And, we had actual suitcases - I can’t even imagine traveling without wheels or travel backpacks! I am incredibly grateful to my parents for all the traveling they did with us—parts of it must have been exhausting! And, I am even more thankful for my brother—we played countless hours of tic-tac-toe, battleship, war, and many other card games — the hours we entertained ourselves (and fought I am sure!).

After Japan we head to Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. It took a lot to get to this moment— but we made it and off we go!

Bill was able to snag two economy plus seats on the flight - yes, there are 4 of us. Usually we swap, one kid, one adult in economy plus and alternate each flight. This trip, 12 hours, we’re taking economy plus. Kids are 5 rows back, other side of the plane. Paying Mel to Zach-sit and paying Zach to have “appropriate” airplane behavior. Wish us luck!
